Note
A pattern of the beginning of the second half of the 19th century. It forms a pair with the sculpture “A medieval knight with a sword” (see: Album of 1900, P. ХХ, S. Figurines No. 50, Fig. 50) by the French sculptor J.-J. Salmson. This sculpture represents a medieval historical character – King of Scotland Robert I (Robert the Bruce) (1274-1329), one of the most famous Scottish monarchs who organized the defence of the country during the early period of the First War of Scottish Independence with England, the founder of the Royal Bruce dynasty.
