Note

A French reduction of the second half of the 19th century of the bronze sculpture “Fortuna” created in the 1660s by an Italian artist A. Falconi. It was originally created as a pair to the earlier and more widely known bronze sculpture “Mercury” (1564) by Giovanni da Bologna (1524-1608). In the second half of the 19th century, the reductions by Parisian bronze founders of sculptures “Fortuna” and “Mercury” were used to cast the allegorical pair of interior sculptures representing good luck, success and financial well-being in entrepreneurship, banking and trade.
